Styrofoam is a brand of expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), which is a type of hard plastic made from polystyrene. It's a very common form of marine debris that litters our coastline here in New England. This single use plastic is seen broken down into small pieces frequently on our beaches. This piece was removed during a solo beach cleanup in Maine.
