Limehouse Cut is the oldest canal in London. It is at the heart of the area's industrial heritage, dating back to 1766. It links the River Thames at Limehouse Basin to the River Lee in Bromley-by-Bow in the East End of London. In the distance is the spire of St Anne's Church, designed by Nicolas Hawksmoor and consecrated in 1730. The church is Grade 1 listed and its churchyard and surrounding area are a designated Conservation Area.
