Khitrovskaya Square (also known as Khitrov Market or simply Khitrovka) is a square in Moscow, located in the Basmanny District of the Central Administrative Okrug, within the boundaries of the historic Bely Gorod (White City) area, specifically in the Kulishki tract. The square was laid out and gifted to the city in 1824 by Major General N. Z. Khitrovo, who took upon himself both the expenses and the efforts to improve this part of Moscow after the fire of 1812. The square was named after its founder. Khitrovskaya Square stands on the site of one of the oldest Vyatich settlements — Podkopaevo.
