The New York Hotel, built in 1906 by mining magnate O.J. Salisbury, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Salisbury hired architect R.K.A. Kletting, known for the Utah State Capitol, to design the building. In the 1970s, John Williams and Tom Sieg purchased and remodeled it, opening the New Yorker restaurant in 1978. The hotel became a hub for fine dining with the addition of Market Street Grill and Oyster Bar. It remains a symbol of successful historic restoration.
