Château de la Valouze in the Bordeaux region of France was the home of Paul Durand-Ruel, an art dealer who was one of the founding fathers of French Impressionism. He helped establish the careers of Degas, Renoir, Manet and Monet among many others. This view of the lake in the grounds of his Château could be taken right out of an Impressionist landscape—who knows how many artists were inspired by this exact view back in years gone by?
