We found this young family in Addo Elephant National Park in South Africa.  Such beautiful animals, but one’s you don’t want to get caught in the middle of a herd, especially when their young are around.

Waking up at 4am to trek into the South African wilderness in search of the family’s den, waiting 3 hours for sunrise and an extra hour for them to finally emerge was well worth it for this shot! An amazing first experience to view and photograph this species in the wild.
