Blackhead Point was the old name of Signal Hill, which is a small hill originally on the tip of Kowloon Peninsula. Typhoon signals were once hoisted at a building beside the Signal Tower, which was built to install a timeball for the Observatory to signal accurate time for ships. Blackhead Point, once also a military defence battery, marked the tip of the original coastline of Kowloon Peninsula. Large scale land reclamation later took place in Tsim Sha Tsui and Blackhead Point's location has become inland. The Chinese name of Blackhead Point is '大包米', which means a big bag of rice.

Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences in Caine Lane showcases the history of Hong Kong's medical development during early colonial period in 1880s to early 1990s. This Edwardian architecture was originally the Bacteriological institute opened in 1906 during the British colonial era. It was renamed Pathological Institute after World War 2. It was restored and converted into the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences in 1996. It's a Declared Monument in Hong Kong.

Western Market was built in 1906. It used to be a market in the British colonial period. It was assessed by the Antiquities and Monuments Advisory Board and enlisted as a H.K. Declared Monument in 1990, renovated, and turned into a tourist spot in 1991 with shops selling traditional art and craft, clothes, cloth, and other tourist attractions. It was characterized by the 'bandaged brickwork' of the four corner towers. The Chinese Wikipedia classified it as Edwardian architecture and the English Wikipedia classified it as Queen Anne revival style - which is a subcategory under Edwardian.

Built in 1914, this western architectural style mansion, Kom Tong Hall, was originally the mansion of a prestigious and wealthy tycoon in Hong Kong, Ho Kom Tong. It has been bought by the government, restored as a Declared Monument, and used as the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum of H.K. in 2006. Dr. Sun Yat-sen wad named the Father of the Nation among Chinese people such as in People's Republic of China, Taiwan, HK.and Macau. He founded the Republic of China in 1911 after a successful revolution. The statue of Dr Sun Yat-sen has been erected in the garden. He studied medicine in H.K.

Following a dinner at this spectacular old house in the dead of winter; I thought, as it was a clear night, it would be perfect to run out and see if I could grab some stars above the almighty beauty. My camera kept shutting down between every shot, meaning it was a good 15 mins in the cold before I got something I thought I might be able to work with. Took me a good while longer than that to warm up by the fire.
