A leaf from a Fiddle-leaf fig tree was placed into a container of red food colour, and left for 17 hours to absorb the colour. The underside of the leaf was photographed, with lighting from behind. I think the complementary colours of green and red work well, and help to show the amazing details of the leaf veins.

Red and green
