This is the second of two photos I'm uploading of "the gold pioneer" that sits on top of the State of Oregon's capitol building. This 22-foot-tall statue is very shiny so I waited until sunset to take photos. I love that soft glow and the warm colors on the gold finish. Quite appropriately, he’s looking to the west. He also appears to be looking directly at the setting sun...ouch! Photo was taken with a drone...in case that wasn't obvious...

Au coin de la rue Saint-Pierre (anciennement Prison Lane) et de la rue Brown se dresse l'église Saint-Pierre.  Fondée en 1733/34 en tant que première église anglicane de Salem, l'édifice d'origine était une structure en bois jaune, construite sur un terrain donné par le riche marchand de Salem Philip English.  Le bâtiment en granit actuel a été conçu en 1833 par Isaiah Rogers et agrandi en 1845/46.  La chapelle a été ajoutée à l'arrière du bâtiment en 1871, date à laquelle certaines des pierres tombales ont été déplacées à l'avant de l'église.

Here's the first of two photos I'm uploading of "the gold pioneer" on top of Oregon's capitol building in downtown Salem. I tried this on a sunny day once and the only way to cut down on the glow was to use a heavy ND/PL filter that just didn't look good on the background. The gray cloudy skies are more of Oregon's style. In the background is Willamette University.
