This photo was taken in the mountains of Utah over a frozen lake on a beautiful January day. The folks in the distance were snowshoeing, as were we. There were about 3-4 feet of snow on the ground that day.

While my group and I were snowshoeing in the Utah mountains, others were cross-country skiing, like this couple. The contrast of their jackets agains the enormous and strong evergreens caught my eye. Each of these trees is carrying is hundreds of pounds of snow and it makes for a beautiful scene.

While snowshoeing through the Utah mountains, we hiked through a small village of cabins, many of which had paths with signs on them. With the falling snow and the icicles on the sign, this image seemed to capture the mood pretty well.

While snowshoeing through the snow-covered mountains of Utah, we were presented with beautiful scenery in every direction. This shot is of a frozen lake with three to four feet of snow atop it and thousands of beautiful evergreens bearing the heavy weight of the snow in the background. I love the blue skies that tied it all together.
