Our team saw a pair of horses grazing along the road to Dyrhólaey in South Iceland and had to pull over to watch them up close for a few minutes. We don’t know why, but horses are somehow just more majestic here in Iceland. 🐎 Visit our website for more photography, trip itineraries and travel tips!

While travelling down a deserted road in Iceland I pulled over to stretch and found beautiful wild horses roaming across the open plains. Their vibrant colours gave a splash of life to a soft winter backdrop. 
As I studied them intently through my lens they nuzzled closely to each other as if exchanging whispers, leaving me to think who was really watching who!

I’m not sure what I said to this Icelandic horse which was so amusing, maybe i was horsing around? We had just spent some time catching the last of the light over Kirkjufell before catching up with the locals.
