After being busy indoors on a glorious sunny May bank holiday, a last ditch attempt to get out into the sun before it set over the horizon.

A first visit to Jokulsarlon ice lagoon in Iceland and my first sight of a glacier. The scale of the landscape was beyond comprehension as the ice stacks tumbled off into the distance. Being able to get up close to the icebergs are they drifted out via the lagoon and washed back to the black sand beach was a moment of reflection. Featuring Timberland rucksack.

Conditions like this don’t appear often in my local area so I had to get out and explore in the snow and mist. While slowly making progress through a snowy field this ground of trees caught my eye for a photograph, but also I had an idea in my mind to fulfil a brief about hugging. The lonely old tree needed some love.

Nothing much between here and Central America except the Atlantic Ocean. Visiting the tall cliffs of Ponta do Pargo on the south west tip of Madeira Island.

High in the mountains which rise up in the he centre of Madeira are a few renovated traditional houses. We stayed here for a couple of nights away from the hustle and bustle of the towns and enjoyed the walking right among the mountains.
