Got up early and drove up to Tunnel View because I was freezing and couldn’t sleep. Got there just in time to see the sun come up over Bridalveil Falls. The valley was thick with smoke from fires and I love the way the light filters through it.

I was freezing cold staying in the tent cabins in Half Dome (formerly Curry) Village in Yosemite Valley with my dad who was there for work, so I got up and drove around the valley at 6 am. There’s been lots of fires in the area and the valley was filled with this thick smoke. Stopped at a turnout near Tunnel View and shot this photo - I really love the symmetry of it and the smooth gradients the smoke produces.

ATV tour on Solheimasandur beach on the south coast of Iceland - I thought this photo was so striking - the landscape is incredibly barren and with the fog being as heavy as it was, you could look in any direction and see nothing but black sand.

Driving through northern Iceland and was really struck by the bleak foreign quality of the landscape.

Around 9 pm on a summer night in West Iceland - stunning place to be.

I was driving with my friend Cheyenne to see Death Cab for Cutie in Reno and we stopped at this lovely overlook to take some photos. It was a beautiful clear day and the clouds were stunning.
