I try not to lug my camera around when I play with my children. I want to be present for them and I often find myself looking through my lens more than engaging with them. The day was particularly beautiful and I decided to risk having the camera on me - telling myself to not shoot unless something intriguing came my way. My boys and I were having fun playing “sailors” in the treehouse (excuse me, on the ship) when this butterfly landed perfectly in front of me. I took several shots and resumed captaining the vessel through dangerous waters.
