Lisa Woakes

Grieving for my Mum, I took up a drawing course to try and find an outlet for the pain I felt inside. My Tutor was about to start a textile decoration course and being short of students she persuaded me that it would be fun. Indeed it was.  No rules, no boundaries, no limits. Seeing this picture reminds me how the creative process helped my recovery.

These are silk paint dyes. I love their intensity against the white pallette. I love loading up the colours ready to make a piece of work, not knowing quite what will be created.
