The Mersey Bluff Lighthouse in Devonport this morning just after sunrise this morning. The beautiful blue of the Bass Strait ocean with the moon still visible in the sky creates a stunning backdrop!

The iconic red and white Mersy Bluff Lighthouse is located in Devonport on the northwest coast of lutruwita / Tasmania. A rather striking contrast against the bright blue sky in the morning sunlight!

With a quick break in today's rain, this Bumble Bee took the opportunity to enjoy some pollen from the Salvia Midnight flowers. However, they are an introduced bee species and are not endemic to lutruwita / Tasmania.

This bright orange flower is a Kniphofia, a type of lily from Africa. Also known as Red Hot Pokers, they come in vibrant red, orange and yellow. After the rain, the tall spires of flowers look rather luscious!

This stunning protea flower, catching the afternoon sunrays is quite striking amongst the green foliage. The Australis Ruby Protea is a unique plant to Australia and has such a beautiful flower that attracts the birds, bees and possums.

The unique Carnival Copper Waratah, although a native Australian flower, this yellow/orange colour has been cultivated. Such vibrant coloured bracts, resembling petals, against the deep green foliage is rather striking! If you look closely, in the far right corner, there is an ant as well.
