This was my first time traveling solo and also my first time visiting Chicago. Apart from knowing that there are a few landmarks I wanted to hit, I had no itinerary planned. It was miserably cold but I truly appreciated the time I spent exploring around the city of Chicago, taking in the architecture, culture, local foods, and interacting with the good people of Chicago. This trip has got me excited to plan more solo trips to new and exciting places.

I saw this street driving down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and I immediately made a U-turn, parked my car on the side of the street, waited for all the traffic to clear and lied down in the street to get the right angle showing how huge these palm trees made what looked like a tunnel. Worth it.

The greatest risk is really to take no risk at all. You’ve got to go out there, jump off the cliff, and take chances

We had gotten off the flight from DC to LA, drove down to Newport Beach, settled into our hotel, and went out to explore the area for a great dinner with my family. While exploring the area we drove into one of the best malls in SoCal, Fashion Island. At 7:15pm, while pulling into the mall entrance, I saw this road of palm trees with the sunsetting in the background giving rise to this beautiful scene and I fired up my camera out the window of the passenger seat of my car.
