The ultimate urban playground for kids.

Superkilen was designed by superstar architects Bjarke Ingels Group and arts group Superflex and opened in 2012. It celebrates the diverse nature of Nørrebro through design and artefacts from around the world.  

The park is divided into three main areas: Den Røde Plads (red square), Mimers Plads (black square) and The Green Market. Each plays its own role in creating a diverse playground for locals.

Because it’s in Copenhagen, of course, cycling is at the centre of Superkilen’s design, with lanes winding their way through the park, offering commuters a more scenic route.

Getting up early for a run down the beach promenade has its benefits - there is no-one else here so you can get the shot. Also, running here feels like exactly what you should do, or rollerblading or whatever your bag is.

The palm trees and mountains made for an amazing backdrop, especially at sunrise. This was taken from the rooftop of the Ace Hotel, Palm Springs.

Shot from the rooftop of the Mama Shelter hotel in Hollywood, looking back at downtown LA. We arrived the night before from Scotland and were jetlagged, so it was easy enough to get up at 6am. And worth it.

Like a giant chunk of white cheese, The Broad sits in downtown LA like something from another planet. The building is absolutely enormous too, which is fun. There’s usually a great show on inside the museum too.

Designed by Frank Gehry, this resembles a smaller version of the Guggenheim in Bilbao but it was apparently designed first but delayed in completion. It looks utterly amazing in the Los Angeles sunshine, which luckily is every day, so you should go visit. There are also some nice spots round the back of the building to explore and sit in the shade. Beautiful place.

This mid-century gas station had a beautiful red and white colour scheme best shown by this cafe sign. There wasn’t much else around there; in fact this was the last gas station for a long way. Also next to this is the famous ‘Roy’s Motel’.
