I’ve wanted to try this for ages and a few weekends ago I finally had my chance. Some dressmaker’s tracing paper as a backdrop, a speedlight behind, a bowl of water, and a strawberry. Oh, and timing!!

Playing with light and colour and shape, and these marbles happened to roll my way.

I decided to gather some autumn vegetables, pile them into some sort of pleasing form and see how they looked. The autumn leaves were just for effect!

I dropped some oil into water with a spot of dish washing liquid in it, put some orange card underneath, added a bit of light, and there you have it! Easy as that.
