I was at a small exhibit in New York City, full of colorful, pop art-esque installations that dazzled the senses. Preeminent among them all was this silent cacophony of musical notes, which made for an immersive experience as I got up close to snap the shot.

My girlfriend and I were studying abroad in 2017, and the first city we visited together was Dublin. One night, we decided to try our luck at the traditional Irish dance show Celtic Nights - one of the most popular shows in the city - with no reservation. As we were being turned away from a full house, an employee appeared to announce that there was a cancellation, and the two best seats in the house were now available. When we had settled into our chairs, stunned by our unbelievable luck, we just had to cap it off with some of the best beer the world has to offer.

I am enraptured by Japanese imagery and culture. When I walked by this gorgeous bed of flowers in Washington, DC, it produced a transportive feeling - I immediately felt as if I was walking through a Japanese garden. I zoomed out and widened my aperture, and the subject did the rest.
